چکیده
The paper [1] has three main contributions: • Modeling VRP (Vehicle Routing Problem) into the minimum cost Ktree problem. • Dualizing the side constraints to obtain a Lagrangian problem which provides lower-bounds in B&B. • Performing the algorithm on real problems. 1. Problem Definition and Lagrangian Relaxation The vehicle routing problem has the following parameters: • K = the number of vehicles, • n = the number of customers, • b = vehicle capacity, • ai = delivery size to customer i, • cij = travel cost between points i and j, and the problem is to assign a path for each vehicle to start from the depot and deliver some items to the customers satisfying the size and capacity constraints and minimizing the cost. Discrete Optimization June 19, 2015 Let N0 = N ∪{0} denote the set of customers plus the depot. xij is a 0-1 variable denoting whether the edge (i, j) is selected in the solution or not. In this part the author models the VRP into K-tree instance in which 2K of edges connected to depot are selected. So define

Optimizing the service card in multi-depot, multi-product and multi-level vehicle routing problem is one of the most important and at the same time, the most complex problems in the transportation problems contexts. Numerous exact heuristic and meta-heuristic algorithms have been developed for different vehicle routing problems. In this paper, a binary linear programming (BLP) based model for o...
متن کاملA novel heuristic algorithm for capacitated vehicle routing problem
The vehicle routing problem with the capacity constraints was considered in this paper. It is quite difficult to achieve an optimal solution with traditional optimization methods by reason of the high computational complexity for large-scale problems. Consequently, new heuristic or metaheuristic approaches have been developed to solve this problem. In this paper, we constructed a new heuristic ...
متن کاملSetting Parameters by Example
We introduce a class of “inverse parametric optimization” problems, in which one is given both a parametric optimization problem and a desired optimal solution; the task is to determine parameter values that lead to the given solution. We describe algorithms for solving such problems for minimum spanning trees, shortest paths, and other “optimal subgraph” problems, and discuss applications in m...
متن کاملCuckoo search via Lévy flights for the capacitated vehicle routing problem
For this paper, we explored the implementation of the cuckoo search algorithm applied to the capacitated vehicle routing problem. The cuckoo search algorithm was implemented with Lévy flights with the 2-opt and double-bridge operations, and with 500 iterations for each run. The algorithm was tested on the problem instances from the Augerat benchmark dataset. The algorithm did not perform well o...
متن کاملK-delivery Traveling Salesman Problem on Tree Networks
In this paper we study the k-delivery traveling salesman problem (TSP) on trees, a variant of the non-preemptive capacitated vehicle routing problem with pickups and deliveries. We are given n pickup locations and n delivery locations on trees, with exactly one item at each pickup location. The k-delivery TSP is to find a minimum length tour by a vehicle of finite capacity k to pick up and deli...
